Output messenger can be migrated from the old server to the new server easily.
Actions to be performed
- Install Output Messenger Server Application in New Server.
- Stop Output Messenger Server Service in New Server.
- Copy the following files from the old server and paste it in the Output Messenger Server folder in the new server.
- OMLs.db3 – Server installed path
- ls.cfg – Server installed path
- OutputCalendar.db3 – Server installed path
- Plugins(Folder) – Server installed path (if the new server has a newer version than the old server, see the note below before copying this folder)
- Client folder\Profile(Folder) – Server installed path
- Status History(Folder) – Server installed path
- Calendar Files(Folder) – Server installed path
- Files Storage Folder – Folder in which you store the files that you transfer(Folder entered in “Output Messenger Server Manager” > “File Transfer Mode” > “Transfer through Server & Archive in Folder”)
- Chat History Log storage folder

- After copying, start the Output Messenger Server Service.
- Try connecting the client with New Server IP Address / Host Name.
Migrating to a newer version
If the new server has a newer version of Output Messenger Server than the old server (for example, old server V2.x and new server V3.x), or you are restoring an older backup into a newer installation, do not copy the Plugins folder directly.
The old Plugins folder contains the older plugin program files. Copying them over the new installation replaces the newer plugin files, and Output Messenger Server Manager may show an error such as "Method not found".
Instead, copy only the plugin files that do not exist in the new installation. This restores your plugin data and settings and keeps the new plugin files:
- Click Start, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Run the following command. Replace
<old server folder>with the location of the old Output Messenger Server folder (or your backup copy of it):robocopy "<old server folder>\Plugins" "C:\Program Files\Output Messenger Server\Plugins" /E /XC /XN /XOExample:
robocopy "D:\OM_Backup\Output Messenger Server\Plugins" "C:\Program Files\Output Messenger Server\Plugins" /E /XC /XN /XO - When the command completes, check the summary. A large number in the Skipped column is expected (these are the new plugin files that were kept). Only a number greater than 0 in the Failed column indicates a problem.
Note: If Output Messenger Server is installed in a different folder, replace C:\Program Files\Output Messenger Server with your installed path. Copy all the other files and folders in the list above as usual.
